Mia Tims, a New York artist currently attending NYU Clive Davis, recently released her single, “Lucky,” in late March of 2023. “Lucky” is an upbeat pop song reminiscent of early 2010s music, a time period that Tims seems to pay tribute to in her stylized music video. The singer struggles to make sense of a tenuous romantic relationship; it makes her feel like she’s “falling backwards,” and she isn’t even sure the other person likes her, but the situationship seems to give her a rush of adrenaline (“it’s invigorating”), and ultimately she feels “lucky.” Or, perhaps, it’s a question: “How lucky am I?”
